Great helmet, 2mm steel with padded liner

Great helmet, battle-ready, circa 1380

Battle-ready reconstruction of a late-medieval pot helmet.
The "Great Helmet" was often worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (for example secret helmet).
These helmets were common throughout Europe in the middle ages, and numerous contemporary images,
miniatures and originals found in Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Swizerland, Austria, etc. prove the popularity of this helmet type.
They were used during the famous battles of Crecy (1346) and Poitiers (1356).
